Prof. S. Sampath addresses the audience at the eleventh convocation ceremony

The eleventh convocation of IIT Madras took place on the 9th of September, 1974. The ceremony was held in the Kendriya Vidyalaya (KV) ground which is situated within the Institute’s premises, adjacent to the iconic campus landmark: the Gajendra Circle. The convocation commenced at 04:00 pm that day and a large audience was present to witness the event. In the image, Prof. S. Sampath (member of the Senate and professor of the electrical engineering department) addresses the audience. Also seen on the dais from the left is Mr. V. R. Nedunchezhiyan (Minister of Finance), Prof. Laddha, Prof. S. D. Nigam and Prof. Ramasastry
