The photograph was taken on the 20th Convocation Day in 1983. Chief guest and President of India Mr. Giani Zail Singh inaugurated the newly built Student Activities Centre (SAC) on the same day. Also seen in the photograph is Chairman, Board of Governors of IIT Madras, Mr. A. Sivasailam (standing second from left). The rest of the individuals in the photograph are yet to be identified.
