The dignitaries of the eleventh convocation on the dais

The eleventh convocation of IIT Madras took place on the 9th of September, 1974. The ceremony was held in the Kendriya Vidyalaya (KV) ground which is situated within the Institute’s premises. The chief speaker was Mrs. Indira Gandhi, the Prime Minister of India. The convocation commenced at 04:00 pm that day and a large audience was present to witness the event. On the dais from the left: Prof. K. T. Chandy (Chairman, Board of Governors), Mrs. Indira Gandhi, Mr. K. K. Sha (Governor of Tamil Nadu), Mr. C. Subramaniam (Union Minister), Mr. V. R. Nedunchezhiyan (Minister of Finance) and Prof. S. Sampath (Professor of the electrical engineering department)
