The Campastimes Summer issue (1969) reported that “In his address, the Chief Guest optimistically referred to the progress our country had made since independence. He warned against our being influenced by the bad news in the newspapers; for after all the press is interested more in focussing on our failures than in glorifying our success.” On the dais, from left: Mr. K. S. Loganathan (Gymkhana General Secretary), Prof. S. Sampath (Deputy Director), Prof. A. Ramachandran (Director), Prof. N. Klein (Gymkhana President) and Mr. C. V. Sethunathan (Registrar).
