Dr. D. Venkateswarlu (President, Institute Gymkhana) looks on (extreme left).The event was held on 1st and 2nd February, 1964. Gerhard Fischer was the Consul for Germany. Mr. Fischer wrote a message in the Fifth Annual Number describing his role in Madras: “As the representative of the German Government in Madras I consider it to have been my privilege to have witnessed the gradual growth of this institution right from the blue-print stage some 4 years ago and to have played some part in this interesting and most useful development.”
