The Special Merit Prize was handed to the student of the B. Tech degree course with the best academic record. Dilip Bhandarkar went on to the University of California, Berkeley, where he obtained a master’s degree and a doctorate. He works (as of December 2020) as Testing Manager and Senior Materials Engineer at Anamet. He also held high positions at Seagate Technology and Western Digital Technologies.
