The Third Institute Day took place at the Institute’s Building Sciences Block on the IITM campus. The previous Institute Days were celebrated at the hostels and this was the first Institute Day to take place in the academic zone of the Institute. The chief guest for the event was Dr. P. Subbarayan (Union Minister of Transport and Communications). The Institute Day of IIT Madras is a day marked to celebrate the hard work and success of people who have shown excellence in academics as well as extracurricular activities. A number of students, faculty and dignitaries were present at the event. Prizes were awarded to students, faculty and alumni as well.
