The event was the first one to be held in the Student Activities Centre (SAC). Seen in the photograph is (first from left, seated), Dr. Raja Ramanna, Chairman, Board of Governors, IIT Bombay and (third from left, seated) Mr. A. M. M. Arunachalam, former Chairman, Board of Governors of IIT Madras. The lady wearing a green saree is Mrs. Malathi Ramanna, wife of the Chairman of the Board of Governors of IIT Bombay Dr. Raja Ramanna. Dr. Ramanna was an Indian Physicist, who was known for his role in India’s nuclear program in 1964. The nuclear program was in its early stages at the time. Mr. Arunachalam served as Chairman of IIT Madras from 1978 to 1981. The other personalities in the photograph are yet to be identified.
